Recreational Motor Vehicles

PLEASE REVIEW THE RECREATIONAL VEHICLE CITY ORDINANCE FOR ANY QUESTIONS.  THOSE APPLYING FOR PERMITS ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE RULES AS IDENTIFIED IN THE ORDINANCE.   

ALL TERRAIN VEHICLES:  CLASS 1 ATV (4-WHEELER), CLASS 2 ATV  (SIDE-BY-SIDE), UTILITY TASK VEHICLE

May be operated:
* On City of Becker streets with a valid permit from the City of Becker Police Department
* There is $25.00 fee for the permit
* Must display the registration sticker to the rear of the vehicle (it must be visible and not covered up)
* May be operated on private property, with permission, for the purpose of plowing, maintenance or other service work
* Class 2 may be operated on the shoulder of a Sherburne County roadway (Sherburne County Code)

May not be operated:
* On Highway 10, or Highway 25
* No "joyriding", may be operated to and from a residence, business, or to a designated and approved trail only
* May not be operated on a sidewalk, bike trail, walking trail, any City park, private property without permission, or on any school property

MUST MEET MINNESOTA STATUTES WITH REGARDS TO EQUIPMENT:  LIGHTING, LICENSING (BOTH VEHICLE AND PERSON), SEAT-BELT USE, AND HELMET USE, ETC

Snowmobiles:
* May use the most direct route to a designated trail, or authorized area of operation on a City Street

Golf Cart:
* May be operated on City street
* May not access Pebble Creek Golf Course without paying the appropriate Trail Fee (please do so at the golf course clubhouse)
* Must display permit to the rear, and be visible, a slow moving vehicle sign is also required
* Must be a minimum of 16 years of age and possess a valid Minnesota Driver's License
